About the Role

Your role, as Technical Services Engineer, would be reporting to the Operations Manager. As a core member of the UK team, you will be expected to work within this team, sometimes autonomously, sometimes on-site, and deliver on works (field or lab-based) as scheduled. You will work closely with the UK Operations team to deploy, maintain and minimise equipment downtime and help to drive continuous improvement. The role will have a clear focus on internal and external customer requirements, expectations and delivery.  The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility is key to success.  As a key member of the team, the ideal candidate will be comfortable delivering under pressure.


    • Completion of project documentation
    • Liaising with clients and customer care
    • Travel – regular travel within the UK (and potentially further afield) required
    • Debug electronic PCB assemblies to component level – both in field & lab with proven record in using multi-meters, oscilloscopes and problem-solving techniques
    • Field deployment of Ambisense products
    • Experience in building electronic assemblies/cabling/prototypes
    • Exposure in device calibration and test procedures and the importance of correct documentation (ideally relating to gas or water devices)
    • Exposure in dealing with subcontractors both for site services and manufacturing
    • Experience in attending site for unit deployment and site repairs an advantage
    • Logistics and stock management experience an advantage

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in use of environmental monitoring instrumentation: water/groundwater/air quality/gas
  • Degree in electronic engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Valid CSCS card (preferable but not essential)
  • Must be competent in dealing directly with clients and sub-contractors
  • Ability to project manage and problem solve under pressure

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving licence
  • IT literacy (MS packages)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

The successful applicant will be based at our UK HQ near Chester but would cover projects UK wide.
