Partnership with BGS

June will be a busy month for us here at AmbiSense with lots of announcements! Here is the first great news!

Partnership with British Geological Survey (BGS)

At Ambisense, we share the belief that environmental risks are best understood and ultimately quantified by looking across multiple datasets and lines of evidence. We also believe that our industry is poised for a technological revolution as machine learning and other computational data science techniques are combined with the projected exponential growth in available data from smart devices such as GasFlux(TM), the world’s first instrumentation platform capable of collecting and analysing multiple datasets required for ground gas risk assessment. With this in mind, we are very proud today to announce our partnership with the British Geological Survey to make their data available to our customers on our platform.

The British Geological Survey is a part of United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) and is its principal supplier of national capability in geoscience. It advances understanding of the structure, properties and processes of the solid Earth system through interdisciplinary surveys, monitoring and research for the benefit of society.

For many decades the BGS has built its reputation as a provider and developer of high quality commercially valuable geotechnical and environmental data used across the environmental industry from waste to water, contaminated land and oil and gas applications. Providing access to this data to our customers will enable them to quickly and cost effectively utilise multiple lines of evidence improving the quality and speed of service.

Commenting on the announcement, BGS Commercialisation Manager Mike Ackroyd says ‘The BGS has always worked to be at the forefront in terms of technological and data development and as our industry and research transitions to more data-centric services we look forward to working with an innovative company such as AmbiSense in what is a new and exciting market for us’.

Commenting on the announcement, AmbiSense CEO Stephen McNulty said ‘The future of our industry is about putting the existing and growing volumes of data we have in the hands of consultants and other decision makers to speed up the quality and speed of environmental analytics. We are delighted and honoured to welcome the BGS as a partner given their reputation for providing high quality data and analytics services to the industry’.
